I decided to ship a Dan to Mark for re-bluing.  I took the gun to UPS for shipment.  They weighed and measured the box and looked at me and said that will be $58.63.  I said thank you very much, I won't be shipping today.

I called my FFL friend.  He agreed to meet me at the Post Office for $5 with his FFL.  The lady at the post office weighed the box, looked at his FFL and said that will be $7.80 for 2 day delivery and $13.20 with insurance and confirmation of delivery.  I expect Mark will be getting my pistol on Saturday.  UPS should be arrested for robbery.

More like extortion. You and I have no other option, but I wonder if a C&R FFL can ship via Postal Service? Anyone know?

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

A non-FFL shipping through UPS MUST go next day air according to UPS laws (yea, they are screwing us)...

I ship with a FFL either by ground or USPS priority for about $12....

No idea on C&R

The last time I tried to ship via UPS, and yes I told them it was a gun, the quote was $74.16.  So now I ship via my FFL who charges "only" $50.00.

You guys have some great deals.

As far as I can tell from reading through the BATFE site and what is in the manual concerning C&R licensee's, you must be a FFL to ship USPS. This is not a Postal Service regulation; if is a BATFE requirement.
