Unfortunately, you are right. This is a very disturbing trend lately on DWF, and I can assure you that:
1) The Staff Members (Admins, Moderators, Range Officers) are very frustrated with the performance of our Internet hosting provider
2) This is a fairly recent problem, since mid October we have had 7 outages (Service Tickets) placed with the provider, some of pretty short duration, a couple of quite long duration.
3) Our Moderators and Range Officers are doing a great job of notifying Admins when a problem occurs, or seems to be starting, so we can get a resolution underway as quickly as possible.
4) We are re-examining our position with the current provider. I think that it is highly likely (bordering on a certainty) that we will move the hosting in the near future. There is a fair amount of work involved in this process, and it may include a planned outage of DWF to get moved completely.
DWF continues to be entirely volunteer managed and supervised, does not sell advertising, and has no paid Staff.
On behalf of Dan Wesson Forum, I would like to thank all of our loyal Members for their patience as we work through a situation that none of us likes.

When the site is down I get some my long delayed chores done. Not a bad thing. Now when Gunbroker is down I really freak out. 😈

Thanks to all of our devoted unpaid staff for their time invested at keeping the alive and well. Chasing down providers that you can't see out in cyberland is a daunting task.

I wasn't picking on the admins, I'm sure they're tearing their hair out as well. It was more of a general observation.

Absolutely no offense was taken, quite the contrary, everyone's patience with these problems is appreciated. My intent is to provide as much information as possible. We have a really great group of Members here, and we want to keep DWF growing and moving forward.
