So I'm sure I'm the latest of a long string of new members with the same old question.. what year was my gun made? I acquired a Dan Wesson 44 magnum in stainless with an 8" barrel last weekend. The more I look over this piece, the more I appreciate its quality. All the tolerance appear super tight and the fit and finish is spectacular. I know my father bought this new in the mid 80s. (Where I got it and unfortunately he wasn't one for keeping receipts, boxes or papers.) The more I read about dating the pistol the more all over the place the information appears to be. I had a Detonics Combat Master that had a similar witness protection program type history that was next to impossible to trace. Answers and guidance are welcomed in reply but all I'm looking for is support! 🙂
