And not one that just sits in the safe... one of the ones you would actually use/carry ...
Most of you know I have a passion for knives also; I have no idea how many are in my stash, but it is more than I will ever need... my kids have bigger knife collections than most adults.
I'll even be really nice--how about 2 pics.. one fixed blade and one folder. Feel free to add the personal stories along with the pics...most knives have stories to go along with them.
I'm at the office right now, so I'll post pics later on.

Man this is tough !!! The fixed blade won't be as big of a problem, simply because I have less of them and don't use them nearly as much…
Here is the #1 choice--my Benchmade Nimravus--
Mine has a whole lot more scrathes on it... The knife is not overly large, very comforatable and balanced and holds an edge well. The only dowside is the sheath is kind of bulky.
The folder is a whole different matter … I actually managed to narrow down the huge pile of knives to my favorite 6 carry folders. I easily got those down to 5 because my one favorite folder (Benchmade 5000 auto) is just too heavy.
My #1 favorite after playing with each one for about 5 minutes.... Kershaw 1560...
Not too bulky, lightweight, and has a smooth feel the whole length. I'm not generally a fan of serrated blades, and someday I'll get this model with the plain edge on it. This is an assissted opening knife and it is very fast.
I'll add a post later on about the other knives that didn't make the cut--neither of these knives is overly expensive, and both of them were chosen over much more expensive brands/models.

First up we have a 1979 Case XX Jack with Appaloosa Bone handles. This was the first year that Case used the smooth Appaloosa Bone handles. This knife belonged to my Dad and was bought for him by my mom. She worked part time back then at a hardware store so she brought home goodies for him. I don't carry this knife but it is one of my favorites. The photo below shows the Case along with some of Dad's things (old carbide lamp, his UMWA Buckle and his mining hat).
Next up is an Old Timer Sharp Fingers (152OT) made by Schrade in the USA! This is a replacement for the original I received for 12th or 13th birthday I can't remember. I lost the first on the creek bank somewhere while fishing with my brother. We went back to try to find it but it wasn't in the cards. So the one below is a replacement. As some of you probably know in 2004 Schrade shut down the plant in Ellenville and now Old Timers are imported by Taylor and Company. Needless to say I won't be purchasing any new ones.

I have a bunch of the old Shrade Sharpfingers--awesome knives !!! When Shrade went under in 2004, I sold off 99% of my Schrade USA collection soon afterward on Eb@y... The prices went through the roof when they closed.
I also have a 1540T (drop point Sharpfinger)....cool knife.

My favorites are the ones I made. The top is actually a leather handled knife. Instead of stacking leather washers AKA KaBar, I did it length ways and colored everyother one black. The center is flat ground- the tricky part was my tether hole. Filing a square isn't fun by hand. The bottom is my first attempt ever- it's great for tree rats.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Here's my hunting knife, never go in the brush without it. Case XX twin finn, 5" & 3"
Case replaced the sheath for me a couple years back but so far the knives are still
in good shape after 15yrs.
I have a new style set back for the boy….he has dozen's of knives but he's not getting
these until he quits losing his cell phone every other day !
This is my every day carry, Case XX Mid Folding Hunter
Tactical that just is cool.
This is for all the USA made Shrade Sharpfinger guy's out there. After the company
sold the name and moved operation's to China . Rigid Knives were made in the USA.
Ok so there's some of the ones I use, now if we post the ones we just collect I will
need a bigger memory card for the camera.

These are the knives I use. They are also may favorites and among my trusted companions.
The first is a buck knife 110 (I believe) it is my camping, big game, trail knife.
Next is my small game knife and it really sees alot of action. It is a gerber
stag handled caper. Finally is my carry everyday knife it is a CRTK
Anubis. It's suber tough and beefy w/ a powerful locking mechanism.
I added a reverse coil spring to it and now it opens very very very fast.
I have cut nylon rope, boot laces, and seatbelts w/ it.

Ok, lets see I don't collect knives but I do accumilate them. Here are a few.
In the folding catagory here is an every day Gerber, I am way too rough to carry something nice to work.
Next is a folder case XX copy I built when I was 13 years old. A little rough but I was only 13.
And of course no knife display is complete without the original Govt issue TL-29.
For a straight knife category my 13 year old attempt at duplicating the Schrade sharp finger.
Here is a little more recent attemp at knife works. This started life as a horse shoe rasp.
And last but the only one really worth showing is my Dick Gillenwater custom drop point my father gave me when I was 14. He said I needed an example of what they were supposed to turn out like.
All in all this has been fun.
Thanks for playing along.

Great post guys! Blacktop I'm going to have to one of those Case XX twin finn to my collection. After seeing that it's also going to make a great Christmas gift for my uncle as well.
jakeemt, I completely forgot about the Bucks. I have the one you show plus a smaller one that my folks got me for Christmas years ago! Great feeling knives.
LB did you shape the horse shoe rasp and temper it as well? Looks good!

Yes, kinda un scientific about it, but all of my attempts were beat out on an anvil and tempered via an oil bath.
