Thoughts on speed loaders for .357. What is consensus in the best and easiest speed loader to use?

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I like the HKS 10/10A.

For me its the easiest, particularly with the DW .357's as I'm holding the cylinder with my left hand so all I do is push & twist & I'm done.

I prefer the Safariland Comp2 for ccw or comp 3 for competition. Buy the ones for a k frame Smith. You don't have to twist it. Just shove it in and it releases.

Thanks for the input guys. I've been looking into maybe getting 3 or 4. Wasn't sure which worked better for the Dan.

So basically, the same as the K frame smitty just a choice to my tastes on release. Good to know.

That's it, just pick your favorite style in "K" frame size.

BTW, this also works for holsters. Smith K=DW Small Frame

Why do you need a speed loader ? ?

Self defense ? Competition ? Convenience ?

Either would require a fast, secure, consistent and fail safe loader.

I'll just throw this out there...why would you "push and twist" when you could just " push " ? ? ?

Also, which type has been more accepted world wide for LEO use ?

I like Safariland ...if you can't tell by nowlaugh

I usually make my holsters, Steve but that is good to know too.

Blacktop it is more a convenience thing I suppose if I go out to my range or when I take family out on camps. Usually I carry a 9 or a 45 but im thinking I should get the old girl out a little more often.

I've actually found holsters for the slightly larger S&W 686 (L frame I believe?) are a better fit. Particularly if you have a HB. The squarer shape of the DW under-lug seems to prefer the little extra "toe room"!

Good point, it is actually either Smith K or L, and especially on a VH

Colt Python is also usually a good fit.
