I just read an article stating ST I will soon stop making all its 1911s and focus on double stack 2011 models. They cited the large number of competitors in the 1911 market.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

Sad, I really would like to have a Trojam.
But for sure there are lots of other good 1911 brands out there.

My (uninformed) guess is that the 1911 market is one of the most active and user involved shooter groups in existence (AR's would likely be a close second?).
I have two (one a DW) and I've had a few more pass through my hands.
If STI does not want to be in an active, competitive marketplace, there may be a message there?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
