I have never tried this, but they say it's better than the weaver stance. I'm afraid I'll knock my eye out. He is shooting a T/C with sporting sights from Martens Sights. It doesn't look safe to me, but it works. One day

I'll try it. Check it out. I will bring me some Tamalies when I try it.

What is he using for a front sight?  R S

I was wondering the same thing. I guess the rear peep sight must be a front/rear combo type of thing?

One thing's for sure, you couldn't do that with a big bore gun.big-grin

If you look closely, there is a long hood on top of the barrel, front sight will be inside to minimize glare I guess.

That front sight is the Taco hood sight by Marten. It's legal for IHMSA on some

types of shooting.

I'm sorry, the video quality on my end would not let me within the realm of "closely".wink hehe lol2

Although, Gary's pics & link do help explain it much better. No question though, that's a funky sight system.

Lots of standing IHMSA shooters swear this setup works better than regular open sights and a more normal standing position. I've used it with a Exemplar before that had a 5" high-rise mount and a 6.5-20X scope. Once I got used to it, my scores did improve and it was a lot more fun than the traditional method.
