Well, I guess I'm a regular now; I've finally broken the 1K mark. I just wanted to take some time to state that this is absolutely THE best forum on the .net, that I'm a member of. This includes camping, truck, and motorcycle forums as well.
I don't know, but I would guess the Moderators have the easiest job of any Forum Mod, due to the civility of the members here on DWF.
You brothers have supported my DWAS (now an honest collection) and fed me all the information I could ever ask for.
I first came here based on a recommendation from Tigger (Dale), whom I met on another Forum (SP). He and Dean fueled my curiosity of DWs when I was sitting in an Operations Center in Baghdad, many years ago.
I feel as though I know many of you, even though I've not met anyone in person. Not from a lack of trying Bruce, things just never work out when I'm in DFW.
This Forum has a definite sense of community, which I appreciate. My welcome home present from the last deployment was the best! Nowhere else would members do that for someone they don't really know.
With Warmest Regards,
Ron

Well said Ron, although I have long considered you more than just a regular here. The way I have always looked at the DWF it has a strong small core group of very knowledgeable and personable members that the rest of us build around. I always put you in the core group in my mind.

Ron-
To have an American Hero like you consider me a Brother is one of the finest things I can imagine. This is a much different world than I grew up in, where people we have never "met" are as close as family. I have actually met FTF with one Member here, we're going to set up a shooting day after the Holidays.
DWF connected me one Saturday afternoon with my son, I was in CT and he was in the Persian Gulf. We happened to be on DWF at the same time, we exchanged posts and chatted on the Range for an hour. No phone for him, but the web was there.
AND in a conversation with my brother (my actual, biological, PITA younger brother) on the phone one evening, I discovered that he, in Texas had been a Member for some time (opportunity lost, I could have Moderated him for something).
This huge world, and enormous shooting community is actually a Family at DWF.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Ron, more than a regular, While it is unlikely we will meet ever FTF I consider you a friend, Bro, or family, however one chooses to call it. With close to 3K members and growing, most only drop by for a short time and others (about 1 to 2 % ) make up the core group of guys who make this one cool place to hang out. At the end of the day the DWF, because of the members, has made my life richer. Looking forward to your next 1000 post.

Always said its a shame we could never hook up FTF. I've spoke with a couple of members via the phone. Even traded barrel assemblies and picked up some useful tips.
Had some laughs, even shedded a tear here. Had a couple of disagreements. But every family has that. And this place always seemed like home. If it had not been for Daniel Baird Wesson, this would never have happened. I can't name any other brand of firearm that could do all of that.

I still consider myself new here and I have always considered Ron to be one of those core members Lonwolf mentioned. This forum is the great resource it is due in large part to that knowledgeable base and the experience they have. I have learned a great deal from reading and asking questions of this board.
Thanks guys!

You know, every morning I fire up the computer the first place I go is the to see who is signed on. I feel a certain connection here and look for my friends, just to feel some comfort before I begin my day. I have not been posting a lot lately as I am starved for ideas, but enjoy reading the new posts from all of you guys. I've had the pleasure of one FTF and look forward to more in the near future.

Hey Ron, one of these days when you are in DFW we will get together for a beer. Maybe if you have the time we will take a run out to the gun club and kill some paper.
Steve you have unsuccessfully attempted to moderate me for years. Didn't work then, not gonna work now. Time to give it up and shoot for a more attainable fantasy in your doddering old age!

After I wipe my tears and blow my nose I have just one thing to say to a certain member named Jagman. I love that gun of yours you have pictured. Like the old Budweiser commercial " I love you man" But your still not getting my Budweiser.
Lucky for you I don't like Bud .
