For those who know of the prayer that Gen. Patton ask the division chaplain to write, all of the troops received a copy later on. I carry my father's in my wallet.

Just a note to the above. The owner of a fitness center I go to is a Romanian, living in this country for over 25 years. He is distraught by tech lack of history people under the age of 18 possess in our country. Luke told that his ten year old son was interested in US military battles. I did a very short write up on Bastogne, added ten things he should research in the topic., and why there important. I explained it was not a test, rather an avenue to gain greater knowledge to a topic.
I gave Luke the info for his review and to give to his son. The next time I saw him, he was so animated about t his son's excitement on the paper, and asked if he could bing ti to school. The youngster checked with his teacher and got a go-ahead to make it a class project.
I glad that I could make an impact on a young person's mind.

This is a pretty special Topic, thanks for posting this. Pearl Harbor, Nagasaki/Hiroshima, Frozen Chosin, Vietnam, 911...
There is a lot to remember. I hope we are learning the "lessons", mostly I think we are not.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks Steve. The boy's father being raised in the communistic European environment is pretty adamant about the lack of history basics not being taught in our schools. This along with with the socialistic attitudes of many young adults who are pontificating the government taking care of them with handouts, and not understanding what comes with this...the lack of many freedoms.
