I was trying to get the full depth of field on one of my DW. This one has an 8 inch barrel and a flash hider 1.5 inch long on it. Total length is 13 inches to the grips.

This first pic took 8 pictures. I tried to get the riflings in the pic too. I use a tri-pod, Nikon camera on manual mode and a remote shutter release. You have to adjust the focus for each picture then put all the pictures together into one picture.  Note: I drop the size of the images to about 1/3 the original for the forum.

8 pictures combined to make this one picture.<img src="/forum/general-messages/the-ultimate-depth-of-fielddw-pic/[Image Can Not Be Found]Image Enlarger

6 pictures combined to make this one picture.

Nice shot, using a high f stop will give you a larger depth of field.  Keep experimenting it's fun.

Happyness is a Hot DW and a pile of used brass!!! Rich

Those are both great looking pics, and I think the rifling shot is cool...cool

My first & only attempt thus far at multiple digital exposures is this lame one...sort of a b&w rendition I made a few months ago of a model 15.broken-computer

Well it's different that's for sure. Thanks for the compliment. You have to use a program that stacks photos. There is a free one called Combine ZM. It lets you stack photos on top of one another and aligns them up. You have to use a tri-pod and hand adjust your lens as you focus through out the subject. It's pretty simple to learn.

Good going you guys - you can only learn by trying.  I shoot 98 of my work

in manual mode.

I also enjoy playing around doing multiple exposures, and setting the shutter

for 30 sec in the dark and popping of lights.

Keep it up thanks for sharing with us~!
