Had an interesting experience tonight. There have been a number of roberies in the area lately, home break in's and copper thefts. Got a call from my tennant saying he saw men around my out buildings. I came up and ran off a pair of with a 445 supermag. Cops came about ten minutes after they left and could find no signs of them. Told me to be vigelant and report any suspicious activity, (DUH). They were most likely going to steal a large set of refrigeration condesors on a cooler unit I have.
When cop arrived, I told him I was the property owner and that I was armed and he said, 'not a problem, understandable, damn thats a big revolver'.
Now to try to calm down and get some sleep.

I'm glad that you did not have to use the Dan for a number of reasons.
Somewhere on the list, if you had to use it, you ran a good chance of never seeing it again.
Scrappers in Michigan are a big problem.
Do I sound callus?
p.s. Calming down would take me two maybe three days.
Endeavor to persevere,

Good deal, glad you stopped them, hopefully seeing the .445 will give them something to think about!
Unfortunately its the same thing here-theft (especially copper) is reaching epidemic proportions. Last fall someone stole the ground wires off the power poles here in Richmond, then at my place cut a ground wire off a building, then attempted to strip the copper out of one wall mount HVAC units here. The good news is the one they picked had a bees nest in it! Cover was laying on the ground, along with the ground wire!

We have the same problems here..."tweakers" in need of a fix get awfully brave sometimes. A while back, a pair of them broke into a school bus yard during the night & cut out the catalytic converters from around 23 buses. There has also been thousands of feet of wire for street lights yanked out of the ground in broad daylight, by tweakers posing as road workers. Hundreds of other cases, too.
I'm glad you were able to scare them off for now, I hope they don't come back!
