OK, maybe this is just my gripe because it's been a long, long hard
work week but...
1. Put some price tags on the guns so I know we are both are in the
same universe and if it's worth the wait to talk
2. Watch how your carrying that $50 .22 rifle that you have high
hopes of getting a $200 trade in on. If I have too live with a
facial scar for the next 30 years at least I want an exciting
and worthy story to go with it.

Hmmm... let's relive yesterdays show..
--Aisles way too close together... show is already crowded.
--If you are going to carry on a conversation, do it in an alcove, the food court, etc, but get the hell out of the overcrowded aisle...
--Please shower and brush your teeth before going to show and engaging in conversation with me... I have a pocket full of breath mints, I wish you did...
--Take that stroller and the kid in it and.... "BeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeP" ( I love babies, just not at guns shows), get out of my overcrowded aisle...
--Take all the beef jerky, chinese crap, etc and go to the flea market; don't unpack it, because I don't want to see it there either... send it all back to China
--Continued in next rant

I hate all the other people! They need to stay home so I can buy all the deals and let the over priced stuff stay! (not really I run into alot of folks I haven't seen in awhile) So we stop, talk and block the isle! Not
I do agree put a price on it!
On Shoots Rant, keep the Chicom guns they are fun tradeing fodder! (get the toys out)
Clean it up before you put it out for sale!
offer shopping carts at the ammo counter
Big one coming up here in a few weeks ask me after that!

Just so happens that I went to a local gun show yesterday, so I can sympathize with most of your gripes. And I'll add my own observations.
1. Don't bother bringing ammo that I can buy at the local gun shop anytime for the same price.
2. See #1 regarding commonly available new guns. Why buy it from a shady guy at a gun show when the local shop will stand behind what he is selling?
3. I was wearing my 'Indiana University of Pennsylvania' hat. (my daughter goes there, and is doing quite well). A vendor says to me "you sent your kid to a state school? all they're doing there is partying and having sex". I just walked away.
4. I don't go to gun shows to complain about the government, taxes, immigrants or whatever. I go to find a decent deal on a gun that I can't run across on a normal day. If I wanted to hear people bitching I would just go to work.
Ok I'm done...for now.

I went to a gun show last weekend in Montgomery. The only thing I saw that I didn't like was a couple of baby strollers, one with a kid in it and another with 2 kids in it. I thought at the time that it was pretty inconsiderate of them to clog isles with them. Most everybody just let them through.
The isles were a bit crowded but didn't have any encounters with any smelly attendees. I don't remember any guns that didn't have price tags on them. This is not a major gun show but well worth attending. It took me a good 2 hours to check out everything I wanted to see. Would liked to have cruised it again but needed to get home because company was coming. Most of the prices were in line with the gun shops so there was no great deals other than the 14-2 I picked up. Still have not had a chance to shoot it since we are camping at a state park this week on Lake Martin in central Alabama. Going home tomorrow after 7 days.

The last gun show I went to was in a tin warehouse building. It was at least 95 degrees in there. I sweat-ed to the point of almost heat exhaustion. No great deals on ammo or guns. Most of the guns were new and over priced. I did manage to buy one at a fair price. It really wasn't my day. I rode my GoldWing motorcycle home about 38 miles away. I ran into a torrential rain storm with lighting and hail about the size of a nickel. Rain stings on a polo shirt and hail feels like a stoning. I had to pull over by a 10'x10' shack and stand under a 1 ft. overhang for 30 min. The wind and rain made me keep running around the building as storms move in a circular motion. Finally the rain, hell, and lighting slowed down enough for me to ride on the street with out being run over. I couldn't have gotten any wetter if I had swam the English Channel. Some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed.

I am a long standing gun-show attendee. So I am use to most of the BS. I do know that YEARs ago there was colaberation to keep gun prices high, word got out and gun shows nearly dried up.
Entry fee- are getting steep - $7. Which would not be so bad but therer were no real good vendors ( same ole same ole).
Like said before way too many new cheap guns.. that hold no interest for me- Jimeniz anyone?
The one and only ammo vendor had cheaply made ammo at full retail price from Walmart. Why buy a box of Tula for $14.95 when I can get a box of Remmington for the same price?
Knives are cool, but the show was about 40% knife vendors. Really, $7 to see cheap knives?
Still, more enjoyable than many other shopping activities. Even my, my daughter and my wife like to go. Go figure!
Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box
in that order.

That's for sure! There is waaay too much of that non-gun related garbage at gun shows.

I've had a few occasions like that. One time it rained so hard that my shoes filled with water. I was riding along, moving my toes up & down in my shoes...swish, swish, swish. It felt like I was sitting in a pool with my shoes on. At least I kept myself entertained.

I have been looking for DWs in Alabama for the past 9 months. That's how long I have been interested in them. To date I have seen 3 for sale. I bought 2 of them, the 14-2 last weekend and a 15-2 pp, and a really beat up beater. The beater was way over priced.
Wish there was some place I could go and find a bunch. My 12th DW should be delivered to my FFL this week.

The shows here in south Miss. are getting really too costly at the door.
The last one in Sep. in Biloxi was 10 bucks at the door, no way. Why pay that much just to go in and look at the same over priced guns that were at another show 150 miles north the month before.
And don't even try trading with most of them. It's the "yours ain't worth much",
or " there is not much demand for those", but I'll take it and so much boot for mine. Well hell, if it ain't worth nothing , why the heck do they want to make any kind of deal? Sound familiar?
Along with all the other reasons and grips everyone else here have already stated, that's why I have just about quit going to shows.

Don't have many gun shows around here, when they do it's mostly knives, junk, and useless crap. Out of 100 tables (and that's a BIG show) there might be 10 with any modern handguns.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Man that sucks. There's a gun show every other month over in Ft. Worth. Unfortunately, as Ed said, they are starting to get a little pricey. By the time you factor in gas, parking and admission I want to be able to spend the whole day wandering around. The show isn't that big anymore. If I get there early before it gets busy, I'm pretty much done in 2 hours. After you blow by all the ammo guys, the beef jerky guys, and the MRE guys.
I don't know about anybody else, but I'm getting tired of looking at AKs. Last show It went to there were 10 tables of AKs. Now don't get me wrong wouldn't mind owning one, but with that many AKs on the floor nobody was dealing.
It seems that dealers aren't there to deal. Saw 2 Mini14s in okay shape. I don't remember the price but it was pretty much full retail for used. I made the guy an offer for both and he wouldn't budge. Bid against myself 2 more times, told him I'll keep my cash have fun hauling them to the next show.
What really drives me up the wall are the dry fire guys. It's like dude, you don't have to pull the damn trigger 50 times. I'm surprised that few of the exhibitors say anything.

if you find one...what's your plan?

I've never been to a gun show. I'm hoping to get my first experience this weekend but from what I've been able to find out, it is a small show. From what you guys are writing, it should be a real treat. Think I will be real quiet, observe the crazies and act like I'm favorably impressed with everyone. I am planning on going to Wichita the following weekend. (The Wichita show is supposed to be a big one.) Hopefully, I'll get to meet up with Dave and we can shoot some Tannerite.

Went to one last weekend about 30 miles from home - no complaints. Free parking and $6 to get in - try going to a movie for that.
Not a huge show, but lots of guns and not many trinket vendors - just enough to give the wife something to browse. Mostly new guns at typical gun shop prices and relatively few used. Glocks and AK's out the kazoo.
Found a guy with 2 DW's - both 15-2's - one an 8VH (like the one I already have) and a 4V. Didn't bring enough cash to buy both, but I got the 4V for $350 + tax. Not a steal, but not a bad deal either. It's in excellent condition.
I did get his info so I can follow up on the 8VH later.
Oh, I did buy some of the obligatory jerky to take home and it's great.
