A new member posted a link to a firearms auction in Stockholm that included several very nice and rare Dan's!  I thought I would post the photos here for your viewing pleasure:

Wisdom is merely the realization of how little one knows, therefore I am wise.

Jody thanks for doing the pics.  They are quite a find. How'd they get there anyway?  Wonder if DW advertised / marketed in Europe? Screwy

If anybody wants a Gold inlay.... I've done the gold inlay in revolver lettering before; learned it from an old gunsmith.  So simple it is stupid.  Some day I'll do a Gold series DW (copy)...Wink

Man, there's some really impressive DW's in that lineup.Drool

The blued 22 IHMSA gun seems pretty rare, I think I've only seen one other. Usually they're stainless. And the 10" barrel on the 375 SM is another rarely seen item, IMO.Worship

BTW, it looks like they're not against shipping them to foreign buyers...this may be worth looking into for next time!

OK.  So they're not so cheap after all. A 300 euro item after the 17% commission and the 25% tax on the commission and the 2.5% hit for the required credit card transaction plus 250 euros for shipping totals out at 629 euros ($779.09).

And that doesn't include the required special export license plus your local FFL dealer's transfer fee.

Once again, if it sounds too good to be true....  I really would like that Action Cup gun (grossed up at 767 euros = $949.83).

Sweden is not part of the EU. Their currency is not the Euro, its the Kronor. BIG difference, about 10:1, IIRC.

We all know that I'm not so smart, I think the Swedish currency is a krona, and it appears to convert to about $.13 USD right now.

http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/europe/european-union/sweden/currency-converter.htm

All this high finance stuff makes my head hurt.

Bottom line, right hand corner: I'm saying there are some interesting and beautiful guns available there, and I'm guessing that there are people here right now that would drop 1K USD for an Action Cup, and not think twice.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Perhaps if you look at the listings a little more closely, you will see that the prices are quoted in both SEK (Swedish Kronor) and Euros.  I based my calculations on the highest price quoted in Euros.
