depends
I would not plunk down $1000 for a fully engraved, gold triggerd, boxed, limited production and then run out to the range with it. Nor would I do so wit my 1886 Parker double barrel... but a brand spanking new CBOB... FIRE AWAY!
Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box
in that order.
4 Monson Model 15's
1 Palmer FB 15
1 Rossi 357 Model 92 (lever)

Nothing wrong with that ! I have 2 older fine engraved 870 wingmaster's in 20 and
12 gauge that have never been fired. Have they increased in value ? Yes. Have they
really keep up with inflation and the value of the dollar then and now ? not
really just about the same money when you sit down and figure it out.
On another note I have a few other 870's that get a work out every season.
So I guess what i am saying if you are have second thoughts about shooting
it don't , just buy another 15 that you can.
(Yea I would probably end up shooting it !)

I did make it out to the range yesterday, so I got a chance to run some cheapo 38 ammo thru it (at the indoor range, we're only allowed to use lead nose and sub 1000 fps ammo)....It shoots really well, but I think the grip is a little large for me. so I'll look for something else.
I know the gun is more accurate than I am, but I look forward to shooting the heck out of it and seeing if I can't get a little better with it....

if you shoot any amount of .38 Spl thru a .357, be sure to keep after cleaning, especially the chambers. I have one Model 14-2 right now that appears to have been shot with .38's only, it won't chamber a .357, and needs still more scrubbing in all the chambers. I'm going to have to chuck a brush into my drill and just blast out all the fouling.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Steve, Hoppe's makes a .357/.38 Tornado brush that would make quick work of that
especially if used on a drill. I am not to keen on using this type brush very much
on anything with rifiling even though they say it will never hurt.

Shoot your classic guns, drink your good whiskey, and drive that "trailer queen" classic parked in the garage. Life is short, you could be gone tomorrow.
Why let your widow's next husband have all the fun?
I'm gonna build me a coffin "Pac" and take them all with me
