It was certainly an interesting experience today! I work from home and my office is in the attic of our house built in 1880. If we have strong wind gust the house will sometimes shake a little. So today at firs that's what I thought was going on then I look out the window and notice the leaves on the tree were not moving!
Not something one expects living in the mountains of Virginia.

The earthquake was felt in Montgomery, Alabama. The blinds on windows shook as well as hanging light fixtures. I was home, 30 miles NW of Montgomery and didn't notice anything.

I felt it in Connecticut. It was not real pronounced, and I wasn't sure what it was, then realized it was either a very small local earthquake, or a larger, and more distant one.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

It caused the shutdown of the two Nuclear plants my company run 4 miles from the epicenter in Mineral, VA.

Felt it up here near Toronto. Just a small tremble but knew what it was - lived in Santa Monica for a while.

Felt it here in Ohio too, I was sitting at the computer, and it felt like the chair was moving-I thought I had to be dreaming! Then I look at the wall and one thing on a hanger of sorts was swinging back and forth! Originally I thought it was something from gas drilling, then I heard the reports of the earthquake!
