I am looking for the value of my friends Dan Wesson Model 741. He purchased this in the mid 1980's. The case is original with the original labels. The gun has interchangeable barrels. It has a second set of grips for silhouette shooting and all the tools for changing barrels. It has had less than 100 rounds fired through it. See attached photos. Any feedback about the value and information about this particular revolver would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

If this is a .44 Magnum, it is a 744 (741 would be a .41 Magnum). Difference in value for .41 versus .44 would be noticeable. Many more 744's out there versus 741's.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I was a bit confused too. The sticker on the case says .44 Magnum. Steve's right, the 741 is a rarer bird. Either way, that's a nice looking SS large frame.

Thanks, any idea what it would be worth? Is this a special edition or anything given that it comes in a box with an extra barrel and grip or is that normal for a DW? Here is another photo of it showing it was produced in Monson,

Worth/ value is a tricky thing to nail down with DWs. It all depends on the buyer. I wouldn't hesitate to say I'd first offer $900 and (if I were in the market for it) my high offer would be $1200. Someone else who wanted it more may go higher.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Looks like the shroud says 44 Magnum, is that right ? If so another member just posted recently
that he got a model 744 with three shrouds and six barrels, one being a hard to find ten inch all
for $900. Most other members agreed that was a Good price. So maybe that helps. Here is that
