I would to express my deep thanks and appreciation to all the unsung heroes of this great Nation, both past and present, who have helped to preserve our individual freedom and liberties.  I would also like to thank all of active duty military members who are maintaining this great tradition.

I believe that I speak on behalf of the Forum in letting you know how much we appreciate your service.

Wisdom is merely the realization of how little one knows, therefore I am wise.

Proud To Be An AmericanThese words were spoken by a past commander of a local American Legion in an article about local fallen soilders recently.

" Selfless devotion to duty and love of one's country placed those men and women into harm's way. They should, and rightfully so, be honored by a gratefull nation."

If you havn't thanked a vet today , it's not to late ..

Thanks to all past , present and future Veterans !!!!!!!!!!Proud To Be An American

I rarely encounter any Active Duty Military in daily life, but when I do, I thank them. Universally, they seem both appreciative and a little embarassed. It almost as though they like the fact that I acknowledge them, but are surprised that I think it's important to do so. Kind of like they don't know what is so special to ME about what THEY think is just what they should do.

As regards Veterans, most mornings when I get my morning coffee at Dunkin Donuts, I enjoy buying coffee and some breakfast for an elderly Vet who is often there in the AM when I pass thru. If he hasn't been in yet, I just pay for it and thay give it to him later. If he's already there (or I missed a day), they know to just charge me for it.

It's not charity, it's respect, I hope

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

A toast to all the vets, from all services, past and present. This vet had to work on his day, so I am late acknowledging it.
