Hey guys, I will be visiting Houston this coming weekend. Thinking I might have the possibility of a small amount of free time, can anybody here recommend any gun shops or outdoor type stores to visit? I've never been to Texas before, thought it would be cool to see what shops are like there, just to browse. Flying into Hobby Airport Friday the 28th. Staying in the Royal Oaks area of Houston.

Collectors in Houston is BIG

http://www.collectorsfirearms.com/

My son visited there regularly just to look at a big variety, prices were fairly high

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks Steve, that place is only a couple miles from where I will be. Looks like an interesting place to browse.

Royal Oaks is only a few miles from my home in Houston (I live in Walnut Bend). Though I am currently living in Perth (Western Australia). Collector's is the most impressive of the gun shops in the Houston area. Fountain Firearms out on Hwy 6 usually has a good selection and is not too far from Royal Oaks.
