Okay guys, I'm stealing this idea from a member on THR (here is a link to that post).
What would you never actually purchase, except maybe to turn around and sell to some dumb sucker for a nice profit? You might hate the company (H&K). You might see the gun as an impractical gimmick (Desert Eagle), you might dislike some politically/legally-mandated design features (Ruger Mk.III) or maybe just think the thing is a useless antique (1911 (just kidding please don't kill me)). Whatever. What would you never get for yourself, and why?
Here is a few of my choices:
1) S&W X-frames – why buy a Dan Wesson SuperMag knock off . My 445 is enough handgun for me plus the DW just looks nicer (to me anyway).
2) Taurus – I've just read to much negative feedback about them plus I prefer may guns to be American made if possible (I have an Italian Beretta 76 so I do make exceptions).
3) S&W with the lock – the hole in the side plate just detracts from the gun plus the feature is not necessary.
4) Glock – I just don't find them appealing… (however my wife likes the one she shot so I might be picking her up one ) so guess I can't say never on this one!
5) Colt Python – I have shot one and they are nice guns but just to popular and expense for my taste. Plus the checkered grips on them are just not comfortable to me.
6) Ruger LCR – I like Ruger firearms but to me a revolver should be made of steal…
7) AR – I actually purchased a Colt AR from my brother-in-law when he needed some cash. I shot it and it just didn't appeal to me and sold it. It was a version with the carry handle had it been a flat top I may have keep it but I probably wont by another.
Looks like I have more opinions on this than I though…

I will not buy a Springfield XD. They just feel wrong to me. I'd rather buy a Glock than an XD.
I probably won't buy an HK rifle. They just don't do anything for me.
I won't buy a Mossberg shotgun. It's all Remington, Benelli, and Browning for me.

First, I don't use the word "never". But in the extremely unlikely category here are a few that jumped to mind.
- RG - Just junk!!!
- High point - I have heard a few good things about them, but a guy has to have standards.
- Ruger LCR - I love Rugers, probably a good gun, but it just doesn't look right to me.
- Taurus Judge - It still baffels me that these are so popular.
- Black powder anything - I think they are cool but I just don't have the patience to mess with them. But they would look good hanging over the mantel. And yea, I would have to fire them at least once.
Enough for now.

Of the brands I have bought and sold over the years, the ones I likely would not buy again are:
Taurus - I don't think there is anything really wrong with them other than their piss-poor resale value.
Star - I had one of the 9mm pistols, what an inaccurate hunk of junk.
Norinko - I had a Mak-90, another inaccurate pile of junk.
CZ 52 - 7.62x25 pistol, okay for those who like the old eastern euro C&R stuff but it did nothing for me.
Cobb - there is a reason they went out of business/got bought out. I had one of the limited edition MCR300 in 30.06. It would jam on every round.
Any 2-shot derringer - heaver than a S&W Airweight or Colt Cobra and you only get 2 shots.
AMT - I had a Javelina 10mm. One of the first stainless steel 1911 pistols on the market. The fit and finish are a little crude. I bought it, put a box of rounds through it, then it tied up space in my safe until I traded it away.

I am not mesmerized or put off by any brand or corporation. I buy quality made weapons that interest me. I bought a Dan, took it apart and bought three more. I find Rugers very well made and will not part with my LCR .357, it is well made and very light. For handguns I own Colts, Rugers, S&W, Dans, Wathers, Glocks and a few others.
The only guns I have no interest in are "collectors". Guns are weapons and tools, save the "artsy crap" for New York wine sipping gallery's.

hmm, guns that i would never actually purchase? How about the DW 745. In fact I'd like to take one off the market so no one else has the misfortune on owning it (but I guess that would be buying it, huh?).
OK- you can keep all the SKSs in the world- I don't have room for any of those. And, although I carry one everyday, I really won't ever buy a Beretta 92 either.

First off, I won't buy a gun that I know damned well was not made in the U.S. ~ or is non-US owned, in the past 30 years. CZ is technically borderline, but I'm pretty sure DW's are made in NY, so I'll give exception. hehe
One of these days maybe I'll try a rented .454 Raging bull, otherwise definitely NO Taurus.
AMT...yes, I want/will buy another one. I still miss my little obstinate 22 Automag & am sad I sold it. S&W...definitely will not buy any of their "Hillary Hole" guns, but have another 8 ¾ 29-2 on my want list. Still sad I sold my old one too.
Rugers? I like anything that was designed before 2000. Anything after that, is absolutely on a case-by-case basis & probably will fail my "pass" test.
Colts? Again, I'm up for anything 20th century & older. At least they didn't kiss the feet of Hillary. Do you wonder if DW's will eventually reach Colt's collectibility & resale status?
Glock? I doubt it, but I also have never held one...who knows? Naah!

For me American made is great DW's, Ruger, a couple smiths, Though I do like some of the eastern block stuff (Russian or Polish), part of this comes from early days taking the p-38 out my dad brought back from Germany, the Luger I wouldn't touch as thought if it jammed i would be screwed, the others I left alone (no ammo). So open to many well made! Though Own more DW's than any other!

Lorcin (sp) I know someone trying to practicably give one away. Same for Cobra and half dozen others stocked in the pawn shops I go "dumpster diving " in for DW's.
Mostly, I would give many guns a try, but some calibers just hold nothing for me:
.25
.32
the odd ball easter block calibers
others that are not high on my list but not off completely
.380
9mm
S&W 500
Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box
in that order.

1 Palmer FB 15
1 Rossi 357 Model 92 (lever)

I forgot to add...any of the Winchester lever guns with the stupid "safety" button....pretty much ranks right up there with S&W's Hillary Hole, if you ask me.
Basically, there's a whole lot I won't buy...which is good, because it leaves more room for the ones I will buy. (if I have money )

I agree with Charger Fan, no lever action rifles with the stupid 'safety' button, if you can't safely operate a lever rifle without one then you better just stay home and watch tv.
No cheap autoloaders of any type, years ago I bought a .25 Jennings, a frustrating little gun that wasn't even heavy enough to be a decent paperweight. Have finally learned my lesson (I hope) with an equally frustrating Romanian ak47.
I like Colt revolvers, but as long as their prices are so high, I'll never own one. My brother-in-law just bought a King Cobra that he paid over $800 for, In my opinion it doesn't shoot any better than my DW 715 that I paid under $400, and it's in just as nice shape. (he paid $1900 for a NIB Python, he opens the box, you look at it, and then he closes the box! fun...)

1. Hi-Point Yes, functional, but I don't know, as a gun nut it seems wrong. From design standpoint its going back towards the rock!

Any of the Russian/Chinese military crap
95% of the old curio and relic stuff
Ridiculous overdecorated firearms
Anything that a true collector really should own
95% of anything that does not fire a metalic cartridge
Stuff that has stupid devices to "protect us from ourselves"
Other than that most stuff has a place, so I can't say I would never own it. Even though 90% of the guns out there I have no real interest in.

I can't go with "never", but unlikely includes:
Anything starting with "G" ending in "k" and with "loc" in the middle (actually never applies)
No more Taurus
With the exception of a good S&W 4" Model 66, no non-DW revolvers
No rifles, I have the ONE that I need and want
Plastic pistols-although I have owned a few, I like steel guns better
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
