Hello everybody!

I want to ask here in forum about a very heavy problem.

In America are build very much great guns. But why do they not sell them worldwide? I am a German legal gun owner and have a hunting license, too. So I use guns for hobby, hunting and shooting fun. Of course very much of my guns are american constructions.

But if I want to buy a spare or a tuning part it is not possible because of the US export law. The legal gun owners community in Germany and Europe grows very fast. The governments in Europe simplify the legal use of guns. The need of spares is getting bigger every day and year. But the US sellers are not allowed to send out of the USA? Why? What reason should this have?

If I want to import a complete gun or spare in Germany is this absolutely no problem. I can import every spare or gun, I have al license for. Importing a gun spare is not a bigger problem as importing ervery other article (like jeans). So the American export law termiate the business with every online seller.

ITAR requires distributors/ companies to have a license:
"Exporting goods or information outside the United States is not a fundamental right for American citizens; it’s a privilege. Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution grants Congress the power to regulate commerce with foreign nations and Congress exercised this authority in authorizing the President to promulgate the ITAR. The ITAR is the body of specific regulations, under the authority of Section 38 of the Arms Export Control Act, which authorizes the President to control import and export of defense-related articles and services. The actual work of enumerating what is controlled for export under the ITAR is done by the State Department's Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC,) which has sole authority in these matters."
These folks may be able to help:

We'll see if President Trump rolls back some of the prior administration's statutes....

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Hello rwsem, I know the law. But for me it makes no sense. Because of this it is not possible to send grips or sights or spares out of the USA. I think Mr. Trump want to make business? So it is not possible. At this time, I want to buy a spare. I know a seller, he offered the spare for 30$. weexportguns.com want to have 700$ for sending it to me. It is a trigger unit for a CBC MAGTECH Model 586 pump action shotgun. Just the Hammer of this trigger unit is broken. For 500€ I get a complete gun. For 250€ I can mill a new hammer in CNC item production. So of course I will not buy the original spare from US seller.

Grips can be exported under ITAR, and some sights can be depending if the manufacturer or distributor is set-up to export.  Canada is not exempt from ITAR, but most parts can be exported up here for about $50 per line item on their import paperwork.  I had a whole bag of "parts" imported, as well as barrels in the past.

Can you buy parts from Canada?  If so, check out Western Gun Parts in Edmonton.  They have all kinds of old parts for many guns.  They are not always the most friendly when you call if you do not know the part numbers, you just work around that with kindness.  😉  http://www.westerngunparts.com/

Also, if you need information on an importer in Canada I can send you info.  The importer would bring in the part for you and then ship to Germany.  Again, I don't know the laws for shipping items from Canada to Germany.
