...for taking pictures of Dan Wesson goodies of course?! With posting up the picture of the new 15 I just got, its reminder that I need to get a new camera. I just can not get good pictures with it. I have tried many different lighting conditions (artificial, natural) which according to my understanding is paramont in getting good pictures. Still can not get good pics. My current Camera is a Kodak CX6330 3.1 mega pixel. Would love to hear what you are using and see a sample pic you have done with it!

For my birthday this past year I received an Olympus Stylus Tough camera. It is a pocket type camera, shoots at up to 12 MP (I think). Waterproof, shockproof, so many options and settings it overwhelms me sometimes. The best recommendation for this camera is that it was my son's "daily carry" for over a year in the Persian Gulf, and survived. Not many electronic devices last a year with him, computers, cameras, cell phones, you name it!
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I've had this HP 733 camera for about 4 years now, and for what it is, it does an ok job.
My main complaints are that it doesn't like indoor pics much at all & some outdoor shots can go bad in the wrong lighting. My next camera will be a Nikon SLR, although I haven't made my mind up on an exact model yet.
I can't say this camera's all bad though, it does surprise me now & then with some good looking shots.
It even does a decent job, using the macro setting...
I've taken most of mine with an old Nikon 5700 (5MP) but just recently purchased a Nikon D5000 which I'm excited about trying out on some Dans!
Also from what I've read its the person behind the camera that makes the difference and not the camera. I have been doing a lot of reading lately and here is a site folks might want to check out: Ken Rockwell Lots of good info there.

I have 3 different cameras that I use/have used.
When my father-in-law upgraded to a new more expensive camera, he gave his "old" Nikon D100 to my wiife and me. This one is a fairly expensive "pro-sumer" digital camera. The pixel count is low by todays standards but the picture quality can be outstanding.

The point-n-shoot I use most often is a Nikon Coolpix S630. This one has been a frusterating camera to learn. It has so many modes that finding the right one can be time consuming.
The third is an older Nikon point-n-shoot, a Coolpix 3200. This one seems to take better pictures than the S630. It's an old camera but still hold's up Nikon's rep for quality cameras.

'k guys decided on the Canon XS Rebel after much debate of what to get...just came in yesterday and I'm playing around with it, so far I'm really impressed with it, even though I don't quite know what I am doing! Here are some pics I just took with it of an 1885 I've been meaning to list!

well i can't say it's my favorite because it's the 1st and only digital camera i've ever had, i bought a canon awhile back and i'm still figuring out how to use the darn thing! i set it to automatic when i 1st took it out of the box and turned it on and now i don't know how to switch it off the auto function, turn off the flash, etc
i just have to take the time to read the manual but the thing is as thick as a phone book but with tiny pages, lol

trooper, I'm with you! These things (cameras, smartphones, laptop, etc.) are so much smarter than me, I just pretty much give up. I learn the basics, and then when something comes up not covered in one of the built-in menus or the "Help" button, I call an expert-one of my kids!
