Is there a way I can find out in what year my DW was made? It was bought with the 6" barrel only, in the Hanou Rod&Gun club Germany some time in the early 80s if I remember right. The other barrels came later the 4" has a paper wrapper dated 1984 and was bought outside Ft. Benning GA. Please forgive my spelling, my spell checker decided it does not want to work today. ;)

You can get close by looking in the right margin and scrolling down to the DWF Serial# Registry -->

Thanks I noticed that after I made the post. Seems it was born a bit later than I thought, the 4" seems to have been made before the rest of the gun. I know the 2.5" was born later as it has the laser engraving while the rest are all roll engraved. ;)

Laser engraving came during the Norwich era; post '05, I believe.  Someone will correct that if I'm wrong...

I found the original box. It has the price tag and date on it, I bought this thing in "87". I got it right after they got it in so I guess "87" is a good born on date. What really hit hard was the price, guns were really that cheap back then?

I'm disabled and fighting with the SS admin for disability so in the mean time I live on military retirement and there is no way I can save anything. When I can I have decided I want one of the EH 8" barrels from the guy on here. I can't remember his name but he has quit the web site. ;)

The EH B/A's come from EWK, and I'm pretty sure Eric hac not quit DWF. You may be referring to a Member selling an EH B/A, IDK?

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Nope, I'm refuring to EWK. I really like the barrel and shroud kits and for some silly reason I like long barrels on revolvers. When, if, I live long enough a 10 or 12" is going in that brief case. Kind of strange I know, I hunt with a 30-06 or 5.56 and depending on game carry a S&W M629 or a full size EAA witness 10mm as a backup. I don't hunt with the DW but that may change. Couple years ago I did build a full flap and cartridge belt rig for my DW and carried it on an elk hunt. But I was so worried about it starting to rust or even getting dirty, that I did not come close to scoring that year.  😉

EWK has items available on an intermittent basis, Eric produces his DW products in between the demands of the machine shop work that pays the bills.

If you drop him an email/PM outlining your needs, he might be able to let you know when those items will be available. He's a great friend to DWF and Dan Wesson owners, and he works pretty hard to support us.
