Remember a few years ago DW advertised a Lever Action rifle? I believe it was called The Coyote? Or was it a pump? Anconfusedyway, does anyone own one of these?

I don't recall a lever action, but a Coyote Rifle .22lr was a bolt action, came in 2 versions one with a strandard stock and a target style stock. Not sure who the manufacture was.

Bob Serva had one listed for months on Gunbroker recently. My still be there.

I thought I had snagged auction pics of both stock styles, but so far I can only find this one. The other style I've seen is more of a straight traditional rifle stock.

I did the research on the Coyote a long time ago--I never confirmed it with any DW employees, but Armscor made an exact copy of that rifle (for about $140 new).  I think it was a model 1500.

I own a Coyote classic. It has a single digit serial number. Its not the same as the ones Ive seen in pictures, since it doesnt have any sights at all. Just drilled and tapped for a scope like the target model. I aquired it in a trade several years ago, still in its origional box and wrapping. Box is unfourtunately now gone. Its a great shooter, very accurate, but the trigger although not bad, isnt great either. I honestly havent shot it much, because I thought it may have some value some day. Unfourtunately, as my luck normally runs, Im beginning to think it may just be to obscure to ever be worth any real money.

If there is any interest, I could take some pictures for you. I was just digging around for information on it when I stumbled upon this discussion.

Absolutely, we would love to see somecool-pics of your Coyote. The more the merrier!laugh

You may be right regarding the value, they are rare enough that any decent collector value may remain subdued for the next x-amount of years. I think that as the value of DW's as a whole continues to rise, that will eventually increase the interest in "all things DW", including the scarce rifles.

These Coyote Rifles come up once in a great while, when they do the bidding gets into the 400-500 range. I have lost out in bidding a few of them.

It seems unique from any of the printed descriptions of the 2 rifles produced. No sights from the factory. Low serial number of 10.

I was in Charlotte at the nra show in 2000 I believe, and Serva had a prototype 223 bolt action that I looked over and talked to him quite a bit about, it had a cut back forearm on it. I watched for it but never saw any of them, not suprised as I waited over 3 years for him to make my 41.

Wow, a three year wait is a long time. I assume you still have the 41?
