This is NOT new news. Since the Obama election the shelves have been empty of a lot of stuff specifically:
Primers
Powder
Bullets for reloading
Loaded bullets
A possible solution is keep your eyes open for gun shows, and auction houses like GunBroker. I've been finding some stock on GunBroker and at several local gun shows. BTW, the eastern gun shows are the smallest I have ever seen.

That is exactly why I reload . AND buy waaayyyy ahead of your shooting and
reloading needs. never buy only what you think you need today, buy for the future months also. When you find it, !!!
I hope you find some ammo from another outlet soon. Nothing is worse than an itchy trigger finger with no bullets to shoot!

A few months ago SG site was showing backorder on items not in stock, I guess I was expecting ammo listed with no note of backorder to be in stock or at least with in reasonable time frame. Why even list if item has a 10-12 mnth wait ? Must be they figure backorder is the norm so why mention it.

I have used:
Midsouth shooting supplies
Natchez shooting supplies
Cabela's
Midway shooting supplies
There is a few places for you to check, but I think you will find the same backorder results.
Yes, they are all backordered unless your after the higher dollar 20ct stuff. I called SG back this morning because of prices, got 500rnds ordered, most should be in by Mar-10th but some will be April 19th . Also got 200rnds from Cabela's because of the C-bucks I had built up, it's suppose to be in Mar-10th as well. I can run 45min up the road to Buckeye Outdoors and get all the ammo I want, shelves are full, but are $7-$10 more on a box of 50ct than the online deals.

We reload our shotshell's with a MEC sizemaster, use to Trap shot 2-3 times a week, that has slowed down the last few years. I've always talked myself out of reloading revolver ammo, Everytime I got a list of tools and supplies together I would get a great deal on 3 or 4 thousand rounds and gave up the notion.
I really do think there has never been a better time to start.

Locally (Central CT) the shortage is absolutely over. The biggest local shop has primers in all sizes and styles, spread across several brands, bullets, powder, etc.
.45 ACP FMJ in 250's, Speer 9mm FMJ 50 rnd for $11, what looks to be a pallet of 5.56, etc.
Walmart is no longer a good source, but sometimes you can walk in one some good availability
Prices are not what they were 18 months ago, but still not terrible
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
