i picked up some extra 15-2 barrels.....(all lengths) after taking them apart i noticed that all of the barrel threads

(except the 12 and 15" were longer (both ends) with the frame threads being about a 1/2 in longer up the barrel towards the muzzle...so i checked my 15-2 pistol pac 265xxx and they all were threaded shorter ....having some computer issues right now but will post pics when i can....

just wondering if longer threads were earlier...then that later barrels

Thanks al

so here is a pic of shrouds...the one on top is from the 265xxx pac....are all the same with a slightly larger E....all barrels have the dw-15-2-marks-2.jpeg

shorter barrel threads

bottom is is more block style......these have the longer barrel threads

the 10" 12" and 15" are of block style with shorter treads

got alittle ahead of my self.....the 10" shroud is close to the pak markings....the 12 and 15" have the block style marks

10 on top 12 in middle and 15 on bottom

For those that don't know, I always screw a barrel in all the way and then back it out to the correct gap when I get a new, old Dan. That way any corrosion is removed and a minimal gap can be set. I also clean and oil the threads well. Ditto on the muzzle end. Screw the nut all the way on and then take off before putting it on the gun.

thinking the longer threads are Palmer maybe?

Monson used a two-line roll mark on their shrouds and Palmer only a one-line roll mark.

also when i say "block" style....they are all sort of a block font.....the ones from my pac sn 265xxx seem to be applied with a punch....and the other maybe rolled on...as they seem to be a cleaner marking

Thanks always trying to learn
