Greetings
Well first if-en we was all the same there would only need ever be one model..
I like caliber .41 anything. Bought my first DW .41 mag 30 years ago. Made my own .414 Supermag. Then made a .414 SM Marlin 336. Then turned my 14 " TC .41 mag barrel into a .414 SM. Have a converted Marlin 336 in .405 JES ( 444 Marlin necked down to .41 ).
Now some think this the caliber .41 Mag is a waste of time. But to me it is the best mid-caliber magnum out there. Sold all my caliber .43 magnums (so called .44) years ago.
I think The "Pork Chop" model DW's are beyond interesting. It is just the way we are. So never fight it. Just rejoice you have interest in the finest revolver system yet devised.

Drawn to a certain type of Dan...hmmm. I guess for me, so far my fascination is in the early Porkchops. There was so much going on, so much change & improvements of the basic design in the early days that genuinely piqued my interest.
And looking back, I find it funny that I have such an interest in the early guns, because the first thing that made me even aware that DW's existed was some magazine article on a 15-2 PP. I recall thinking how cool the concept was that you could swap barrel lengths in minutes & essentially have four guns in one. At the time, I had a 8 3/8" Smiff 29-2. I loved the gun, but wanted to see what different barrel lengths would feel like. That's why a DW PP sounded like a really cool idea!!
A few years later I really got hooked (more like hook, line & sinker) when I came across an article on the twin of this...
That article & it's photos haunted me for years.
So once I got to a point where I could act on what had been haunting me, I started with a 15-2 PP. Of course, pretty much took over from there, and before I knew it I had blown lots-o-buckage scooping up some neat DW iron...some new, more old. IMOO (in my own opinion), other than the freakin' cool SM's I have landed, there's three ole Porkchops that I was able to bring home that I feel truly fortunate to own...
The sequential 2-digit model 12 brothers (ED & Fred)
And my D11 .38 Spl with a fixed barrel nut...
I could go down the list from there, but let's suffice to say that I feel fortunate to own each & every DW I have. I didn't really have this same feeling with my Smiff, or my AMT, or a few others from the past. DW's are definitely a unique firearm & anyone who hasn't seen the light is missing out.
