I prepared for storms every season since we have been through one of these. 14 days without power, but LP gas house and generator, lots of food stuff.
Start getting water in May.
Six cases of water bottles... 50 - one gal bottles. Additional 50 liters of prepared water I made.
Propane generator...with five 15lb bottles. Freezer full.
Plenty of canned food.
Yet, this thing is going right over our heads Sunday morning. So, we have prepared all day collecting our papers, back up drives. Securing other things from flood possibility. If this path doesn't change, we are going to a shelter who allows pets, probable for two nights... and hope we have a house to come home to.
The house is three years old, built to withstand 150 mph, and is cinder block, it has shutters.
We have done all by the book, watching other scramble.
Prayers guys, we need them.
George

Thanks you all, good to see you Jody, too.
Well shuttered up. Cat food, and their provisions are ready, as well as our important docs. Hey, I found a new use for ammo cans...put my camera lenses in the! Three most $$ cameras go with me in a Pelican brief case. One over night bag one some snacks, flashlights and folding lounge chairs and our pillows. Ready for the shelter if the winds stay above 140. It is going to fly right above. We are high & dry so flood was not a big concern but still a factor. Roof vs wind. If we bug out, it will be Friday or Saturday at the latest. Shipped some hardware to myself at a relatives so I don't have to worry about them.
Thanks for the good vibes you folks. Will check in tomorrow.
Jody, how's the little guy? Got a pic for us?

The Illinois national guard is getting ready to help if needed. My nephew is in a heavy equipment division from central Illinois and they have just been put on alert. I know nothing is stronger than the power of prayer....but some dozers and cranes may come in handy. Stay safe !
Thats a good idea on the hardware

Started to track a bit west, which is good for us. Hopefully will make a difference on impact. It will still be a heck of a storm. I'm expecting no power for one to two weeks.
Ill check in when new info.
Thanks all for your support-really helps.
