SO I posted that me and the mrs. went to the range yesterday and each put around 50 round through my .357 mag....50 of the shots were .357 mag and the other 50 were .38 specials.
So today (actually a few minutes ago) I finished cleaning the weapon out and had it nice and clean. I then for some reason went to dry fire it once and the trigger jammed.
Ive tried everything from lubricating the trigger to spraying rem oil in the trigger mechanism.
Ive tried the upside down cycling method and nothing it still sticks.
I noticed it sticks every time, without exception. Also that when stuck if I move the hammer back s slight bit the trigger "pops" back.
I also noticed that if I pull the trigger applying the finger pressure to the right as I pull the trigger it locks up, if I pull it to the left theres a 90% chance it WONT lock up.
Help please.
Sincerely,
Rod

When you cleaned and lubed, was this with the side cover off the frame? I've had this happen to a couple of my small frame Dan's in the past. Both were solved by removing the side cover, doing a good cleaning and lube all the contact points. Like you, I use Remoil but only on the rotatng parts. Parts that rub or slide I use a gun grease (typically Tetra gun grease).

Ya I already took the frame side cover off and theres alot of gunk in there. I have been hesitant in performing this type of in-depth cleaning but I guess this trigger thing has me motivated to do it.
Waiting on a buddy so we can tackle this 2 man style at least this first time.
Will post the outcome after we get done with it.
I also ordered a set of Wolff Springs and plan on swapping them out once they arrive.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Rod

Ok so after cleaning each individual piece, putting it all together and lubricating the apropriate parts the stuck trigger is no more.
Thanks Wdelack for the suggestion.
I can even feel how much more smooth the trigger and overall performance is, cant wait till next range day.

I was also intimidated the first time I took one of my small frame DW's apart as well. But with the instructions available on the site it was a breeze! I still need to tackle taking one of my large frames apart...
Glad you got her operational again!
Thank you. Ya I wanted to do a thorough cleaning since I got her but was always very intimidated, even with the instructions right here. Youd be surprised what I pulled from inside the frame.
I guess it was a blessing in disguise because Im fully confortable opening the frame up and cleaning it as needed.
Sincerely,
Rod
