It took 73 years to finally get a Dan Wesson model 15-2. I traded a S&W 686+ 3 inch for a 15-2 6 inch. The blue looks almost perfect. I tried fitting it into some Python holsters and got some light holster wear. I recently got a 4 inch light barrel assembly. Would like to get an 8 inch assembly someday. Haven’t shot much because of health conditions. Hope it cools off soon so I can take my 3 grandsons to the range. I never bought the pistol pac because our gun stores never had them for sale. I was still an apprentice for our Local Asbestos Workers Local 55 Mobile, Al. Wasn’t making top wages then with baby on the way. Well I would like to know about DW guns and to be able to navigate this forum. Hard to teach old dogs as you know. Thanks for the rambling on.

Welcome to the world of DW revolvers!! The 15-2 is the “bread and butter” of DW revolvers IMHO; the most common out there. Two basic groups: “early, pre 1975”, and “later”, post 1977”. There are a few differences in the two; mainly regarding cylinder/crane arrangement. If you can provide a serial number and/or a good clear photo with the cylinder open, we can probably let you know which you have. Both are great revolvers; just a few minor differences in how they are set up.

73 years young, I say!!! And, it’s better late than never, right?!! Welcome to the DWF!! One of our esteemed members, Ole Dog, will certainly be able to help you, but likely you’ll need to supply some additional information like serial number and possibly a some kewl pics. There’s many other members, like Snake Eye, that are very knowledgeable too, you’ve come to the right place for answers. And, we always luv pics of DW pistols!!
