Can anyone tell me what a fair price to pay for the following would be? It was offered to me for $450.00, please advise?

a 1973 Model 12 mfg in Monson, MA in .357 Mag, comes w/3 factory blued barrels   (1.75", 4" and 6") with adjustable iron sights, all 3 have never been fired, still in the box with original wad cutter ammo, 2 walnut pistol grips totally unblemished, original tools to change barrells, manual, original carrying case, serial number is #86.

The gun is in mint condition, and I want to buy it, but not even the folks at CZ-USA could/would tell me a fair number.

I'm in CT and I recently saw a used Model 12 Pack in good condition for $750. Does in the box mean in the Pistol Pack briefcase? In the Pistol Pack briefcase makes it a great price, still a good price. Serial Number 86 Model 12 is more likely to be a 1970 gun.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Yes, it is in the green plastic case, with dual handles with original foam and cutouts for all pieces:

The gun itself with the 6" barrel attached, then a space for the each of the two other barrels, the second walnut handle, the full box of original ammo, original purchase receipt, and tools to change the barrels.  What do you think this would be worth....can I shoot it? Meaning...I won't if this would reduce its' value?

I think it is a fair buy and yes you could shoot it andyes it may reduce value.  you can always find a shooter around that will accept the barrels.

IMO, that is easily worth the $450 asking price! GTDW

It's hard to say whether the value will drop much by firing it...actually, I can't imagine it's value would ever drop below that price as long as you take care of it.

It should look pretty much like this...

Tim, I'm not a good person to ask about leaving it unfired, I don't buy anything that I won't shoot. You have a good value there, and you could flip it for more. If you can guarantee it is unfired, shooting it might reduce it's resale price.

I'm assuming you are thinking it is a 1973 from the sales receipt, #86 is going to be a 1970, based on 4 other well documented Model 12's (96/97/101/102) in our Serial Number registry. There were a number of these early DW's that came into the marketplace about a year ago from a seller in MA (Longmeadow, I think).

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Yes.  The seller is probably the son of the original owner – David L.... out of Longmeadow, MA.  He was the President of some company and it is his name (L....) on the original paperwork out of Longmeadow, MA

I believe the father passed away and the son inherited them and sold this one #86, to another guy and now, he is looking to sell it to me. I just want to make sure it was a fair price to both parties.  It is unfired. No fouling anywhere, no discoloration in the cylinder, on the hammer,  or any other part.

Buy Now  is what I would say then pick up a couple to shoot a great investment as these have done noting but go up!  My brother bought a used in mid 70s for around 200 he thought it was a great buy then.

At $450 I don't think I could pull out the cash fast enough!  If you get it be sure to post some pictures!
