Hello everyone. I've been a DW owner since ~1985. I traded a T/C contender for my SS 44V at a Houston gunshow. A guy has a 41 and a 44, both with $165 price tags. I had no cash and traded him for the .44 straight up. Man, if I could go back in time I'd have scrounged up that other $165 and had a pair of large frame twins.
My user name and avatar are due to me being a beer brewer. It's a play on the name of my favorite beer "Pilsner Urquell" and my nerdy nature.
I live in NW Arkansas, was a diesel mechanic for 20yrs, changed careers after an injury in 2009 and am now a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.
I shoot and reload for the DW .44 and a Stevens 200 rifle in .223. I wanted a DW before I ever had an opportunity to buy one. I could never understand how these guns weren't the hottest selling revolvers of all time. They are simply superior in every way. Anyways, that's about all I can think of. I'll probably bend your ears from time to time. Great looking forum BTW, lots of good info here. Here's a pic of my DW on the reloading bench:

Welcome to DWF, you passed the first New Member test by posting
Not a lot of DW Brothers start out with a .44 mag, glad to have you here.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas. I'm loading up some Hornady FTX 225grs at @ 1200fps. I'll snap some pics when I shoot it this weekend. I live on 24 acres and have a 100yd shooting range where I can fire out of my garage.
It's been awhile since I've shot more than a few rounds out of this thing. Just got back into reloading after not doing it for 28yrs.

Charger Fan said I bet that baby knocks some dust loose from the rafters when you do that.
aboard & thanks for showing off your 744!
Thanks, it has quite the roar in the enclosed space--like a loud "TING" when it reverberates

Welcome!
I used to live in Arkansas. Best people on earth imo.
And I'm with you about how Dans can be such a well kept secret. It's better that way, though. Interest would just drive up the prices for those of us already aflicted with
Ha, no kidding. Just makes me sad that the DW era (probably the whole wheelgun era) is over

Nice looking 44.I have been trying to tame the due to an over extending X-Mass, however seeing this SS 44, reminds me there is a gun show this weekend...
I know what you mean. I've looked at the picture threads on here. I'd love to own a blued .445 Supermag. Wife would probably shoot me with it though.
Here's another pic for ya. The FTX loads came out wicked looking--look like little missles. Posed the Dan with my other boomer, an old ADC .45/.410 3" Mag wrist breaker with 000 buckshot

I have the little brother!
Mine is the .41
@ bikeridertim: That is a beauty. Much better shape than mine.
@ Boss Dog: I'm from Easley, SC. All my folks still live down there.
@ Dave_Ks: Easy choice at that time. I already had .44 brass and dies.I was waiting on a front sight blade from EWK, got it today. My DW was shooting 4" high and the sights were all the way down. Got a .350 front sight. Sat down at the bench after work and after I sighted in, shot a very cold (brrr!) 5 shot group with the reloads at 25yds. Even with one of the shots surprising me as it went off, I netted a 1.25" group. Ahhh, DW accuracy.
