Hey Everyone: I'm a retired North Carolina teacher, new to this group and to my "new" Dan Wesson six inch .41 Magnum. Actually I've had two 44 mags in past years and never enjoyed shooting more (except for my Colt Gold Cup). They were sold along the way with the Colt. That was in 1980, and, that was when I started kicking myself in the butt faithfully every day. My day doesn't start until I get a cup of coffee and a kick in the butt.
This Christmas a very dear friend gave me a 1969 Colt National Match with a finish as deep as the day it was made. That gift started me thinking about DW revolvers, and, to cut this short, when I moved out of town to live on a great farm with more whitetails than blades of grass, and got permission to hunt, I went looking for a .41 and finally found one.
One question for you, how do I figure the production date from the serial number which is SC001XXX? Thanks.

You cant, Here is as close as we can get you these are the dates by city of manufacture it will get you in a range.
1971 - 1992 Monson, MA
1992 - 1995 Palmer, MA
1997 - 2005 Norwich, NY under Bob Serva
2005 – Current Norwich, NY CZ-USA ownership
