Moved to New Members-Steve

Hello,

I recently purchased a nice looking 15-2 from the mid 1980s. I like everything about it except it has a slight cylinder "jiggle" in "lock up" position. It only jiggles slightly from side to side but not back and forth. It is very little movement, but I am used to my S&W "N" and "J" frames which have no movement at all. Is this normal for DW revolvers, or does mine need a cylinder stop or other part to cure it? Thanks, Tom

I think it is normal if it is slight. Front and back would be end shake and require a shim or bushing.

Thanks guys. I didn't think it was bad enough to hurt. I just wondered if there is any way to tighten it up, or should just shoot it and forget it.

Short answer is to shoot and enjoy it.

Some of the play can be due to a worn bolt face that does not fill the slot in the cylinder. A new bolt might  help but if the slots in the cylinder are also worn, then it could be a waste of money to replace. The bolt could also have some side to side movement in the frame but this is likely inherent in the fitment of the parts in your particular gun.

As long as the chambers line up directly with the barrel every time, and stay there when firing, there is no actual problem, just a perception of one.

Enjoy!

Welcome from SC. Did you shoot it yet? What'd you think?
