Howdy!

Just aquired a Monson 41 Mag from a member on the S&W forum.  Have several 41 S&W's but am now the proud of a excellent shape DW.  I will be asking some questions about it such as model #, which grip do I need beside just a "large" as I looked on EBay, ordered a large, received it fast and tried this am and it isn't large enough, scope base, as it came with the Burris 5X scope and rings but no base (do I really have to drill?).  I will be posting pics in the next few days and I'm sure that my questions will result with answers as I have found with the S&W and Campfire forums that alot of good people are on theses sites, also some bad but 99% good!  Glad I found this.

Oh yeah, about me: Old, Ugly, but love to fish, hunt and shoot revolvers.

1) Blue is Model 41, Stainless is Model 741.

2) The Pachmayr Presentation grip is about the largest one I know of. LBruce is a custom grip maker, you might look at some of his work. Take a look at the right side Forum sidebar

3) The B-Square clamp on scope mount is the most likely non drill & tap scope option, they are sometimes available on ebay and Gun Broker

4) This is likely the most friendly and non confrontational Site you will find.

Welcome to DWF

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

welcome from a PA member.  Looks like Steve covered most of your questions with good answers already.  If you find a B-Square clamp on mount, they are good but do mount the scope rather high.  A mount from Weigand will lower it but does require drilling and tapping.  Lbruce custom Grips give that Dan a look like no other and are totally custom, I recommend him strongly.

welcome to dwf-sign

We need to see some cool-pics of that 41 !

+1 X 10 LB can custom a grip for you.

Need to see the rings you got, they might be the ones that mount straight to rib.

Welcome.... so you need a "large grip" ???

Heres what a LARGE grip looks like from LB:

of course thats just on a small frame .357. I suspect LB can make one only the Hulk could love if requested.

Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box

in that order.

Here's another scope mount option.  These are by Leupold and are fairly rare, but they are available in both  brushed nickle and blue.

See pic:Image Enlarger

This gun is a 745 (.45 Colt) and it also has a LB Custom grip in figured walnut.

Welcome to the DWF and watch out for DWAS.

Here's a pic of the 3/8" rib as shown on the gun.  The rings that came with it, do not fit over/onto the rib, so a base must be somewhere out there.  But, I do not like the idea of drilling & tapping.
