Hello All,
New here from Monroe, La. My wife bought me a Dan Wesson .357 I was eyeing in the pawn shop for an anniversary gift. I don't know what model it is but from reading here I am leaning towards a Model 14 Service, it is not a Pork Chop. The gun has alot of finish wear and needs a ton of cleaning. I plan on getting it serviced and re-blued. I don't know alot about these guns but for $200 I wanted it!

Welcome to DWF. That 14 is begging for some TLC. Start with a good cleaning, maybe pop off the sideplate for a cleaning and interior lube. If it's a good shooter, grips are easy, and a reblue is pretty easily arranged, if you're so inclined
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

That's not finish wear, that's experience.
And character! Which is never a bad thing.
For $200, I'd say you definitely got yourself a good deal. Your model 14 (14-2, to be specific) probably had a matte blue finish originally, so if it doesn't shine like a "bling gun", it was built that way...built to be a serious no-frills shooter.
aboard and congrats on your nice score! Kudos to such a cool wife too, for buying an irreplaceable piece of history for an anniversary gift. That's really neat.
I'm sure that with a good scrubbing, it'll be a great gun for you (or both of you).
