My journey to Dan Wesson and this forum has been pretty doggone fast.  At the beginning of June, I returned to 1911s in general with the purchase of a Smith & Wesson sub-compact .45 pistol.  Nice gun, and I had probably put 400 rounds through it and was starting to shoot it pretty well when the plunger tube fell off the side of the gun.  Back it went to S&W last Friday.

I was pretty disturbed since I had not had the thing more than a month or two.  After packaging it up I dropped the pistol at FedEx and kept on going to my LGS.  Those of you in central Virginia know it well as it has a trademark green roof and is just south of Ashland.

Anyhow, on a previous trip there to buy some cleaning stuff I had examined an ECO.  Clearly, this was a much superior product, and although not usually subject to impulse buying, immediately purchased it.  What a great pistol.  The Smith & Wesson will be sold as soon as it returns from Massachusetts.

I'm in the middle of a leisurely break-in period, which is fine by me.  I'm savoring every minute with this pistol, even the FRTB I was expecting during the first rounds.  Stuck in a Milt Sparks Versa-Max II that I have, this could be the end of a very long trail of looking for an ideal self-defense pistol.

Happy to be here, gentlemen, happy to be here.

Great to have you- the ECO will serve you well, no doubt!

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....
