Several months ago I decided it was time for me to buy my first firearm. I decided on and ordered a Kimber Stainless Ultra 45. I have not yet received it. Today I went to a gunshow and came home with a Dan Wesson Commander Bobtail, which has become my "first", making the Kimber my "second" when it arrives. It's a real pleasure to be here.

Gallenl to the . I have a cousin who lives in Las Cruces, NM.............you aren't him are you? First name Dave. Now those brass chuckers are nic but you have to get a revolver also . We can direct you to many choices. Just ask. The 15-2 is a good starter but there are many more in the family.
I have a Kimber Ultra CDP II in 9mm and I like it. Finely made gun. I also just got (3 months ago) a Fusion 10mm. That's a good one too.
When you get the Kimber let see some of the two cause , .
Glad to have you aboard,

Allen,
I am planning a trip to visit my cousin this summer. I'll have to look you up and we can do some shooting out in the desert. Last time I was there we went into the Organ Mtns and plinked some cans. Great fun.

Nice catch, CBOB is a great first gun, actually a great ANY gun. One thing to watch for is that DW 1911's can be pretty tightly fitted. If this is a new one, run it pretty well lubed.
I am fully confident that once you hang around here for a little while, you will be looking around for a nice, clean DW 15-2 .357 Magnum, maybe a 6" Vent Heavy barrel, and then, my friend, you will experience true shooting Nirvana.
Welcome to our corner of the shooting world.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
