Got my 1st pistol pak (Model 12 - 3 barrel set) about 2 years ago.  Last year I got a mint 15-2 pistol pak with everything still wrapped in factory brown paper.  Since then, I've added 3 more .357 pistol paks, a .22 pak and a .44mag set plus a few misc. revolvers.  Trying to pin down chronologic model changes such as the rear sight, of course, the pork chop barrel, the changes to the cylinder catch...the shape change then the change from matte to polished.  Why do some revolvers have the model number on the right side of the frame with serial number on the crane then some have no model number with the serial number on the right side of the frame?  I find this very fascinating.  I'm trying to maintain a notebook with every bit of info I find and maybe I can decipher it all some day.  Any help and/or advice would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum from PA!

All the info you ask about is on this forum.  Do some searches in the Reference Files section of the forums.  A lot of the answers are there.

Look at the right sidebar, there is a rotating Historical Facts window that displays a lot of detail as to dates that model debuted or when upgrades or changes were made.

Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

You've got the bug - and it sounds like you know what to do with it.  Enjoy!
