Howdy from Central Texas. Was sent this way by the folks at The High Road to gain some knowledge about my latest firearm acquisition and first Dan Wesson revolver, which I think is a early 70s era Model 15 with 6 inch vented rib barrel in .357 mag. I am partial to revolvers as I view them as much as works of art as they are functional pieces of equipment. However, I am a CZ fan since many years ago. Currently own an older, non Omega 75B, P-07 and a RAMI.
As to revolvers they run the gamut of the affordable ones - a couple of K-frame Smiths, a Ruger Single Six and my cheapest by far, a .22 Charter Arms Pathfinder snubnose.
My Dan Wesson acquisition was a fallback. I had handled a pistol pack DW at a gun show on Saturday that was very reasonably priced. I knew very little about DW quality or models. After researching it, I realized it was a very good price and went back to buy it. But alas, somebody else was admiring the offering when I returned the next day. Unfortunately for me, they knew the value of what was in front of them and walked away with it. I was now wanting a DW and found my purchase across the way at another dealer. Pricing was OK ($495) and the gun was OK (about 75 or 80% aesthetically) but very nice mechanically. So I bought it.
Other pertinent information on the revolver - adjustable rear sights serial 1291xx - made in Monson.
First Dan Wesson Revolver - Model 15-2;
Walthers and CZs my favorites;
Gotta few Rugers, Smiths, RIAs as well
