Hi guys -

Had been thinking about a DW .357 off and on for about a year. Didn't want a S&W, and the Rugers just seemed too plain, but had no plans to buy, since I was focused on holiday stuff and family. Walked into a pawn shop in north Georgia today and there was this beautiful, low mileage DWA 2" sitting in the display case. First in-the-flesh DW I had ever seen. No case, no extra barrels, just the gun. Apparently taken in on trade in CA.

Then I made the mistake of getting the guy to let me handle it. Game over! Jez, the grip was so large and comfortable. The gun was so meaty I thought it was a 4" until I got it home. Turns out to be a 2", but in immaculate shape.

I really wanted a 6", but I knew there weren't many in this condition, and, after all, barrel length means nadda on a DW. So now starts the quest for a 6" or 8" barrel and a wrench.

I love this gun already!

Merry Christmas to everyone.

Congratulations, that is a very nice lookin Dan indeed. You may want to check out EWK arms, his ad is on the right column of this screen, he makes excellent barrel tools and some other great stuff as well. And keep an eye on Gunbroker for original barrel assemblies.

Also, welcome to dwf-sign  looks like you are hooked now!

Very nice Christmas gift!  Barrel assemblies and tools are easy to come by for a model 15-2 so you shouldn't have any trouble finding them!

Thanks for sharing the picture and welcome to the DWF!

Congratulations, that is in great condition. There's something about that deep blue that pulls you in. That specimen looks pristine.

I'm still laughing at myself. This gun is fabulous! So big I assumed that it was a "big frame" when looking up the DOM by SN. Silly newbie.

I took it out shooting and it's as accurate as a 4 inch. I have a 2" Smith that can't hit the barn from the inside. This baby rocks!

EWK seems to be out of 8 in barrels right now. Got to out-shoot my son with his GP100 6" you know. I mean the old man's honor could be at stake. Can't be letting those kids out shoot the old fart.

Range reports soon!
