OK, I have been prodded by others to do a new guy post. Yes I am a plumber, and yes I am from NW Pa. Anyways, I hate to say this, but, I do not, nor have I ever owned a Dan Wesson firearm! I hope y'all don't hold that against me!! I am a Ruger nut. Specifically the Ruger Maximum as some others have already alluded to. I figure to broaden my horizons, so to say. In my opinion, knowledge is king. I have a lot of facts on the Max, a lot of hearsay, a lot of conjecture. I look forward to being proven wrong about something I know as long as you can support it with facts/documentation. I AM trying to get the complete Max story. It's been 33 years since Max production ceased, a lot of the people connected with that project/development have passed, so every day that goes by, it may just get a little harder. Hey, ya never know, someday I just May have to get a Dan Wesson in .357 Max. Thanks for the welcome, hope I can contribute, Coogs.

Well, I am just here to tell you that I have never initially felt more welcome on a gun forum than I have been here! Thank you everyone! Now, I am not taking any thing away from any other forum I belong to, about 15 or so, they are all special to me in a way, but here, well, as the man says, it's just the cat's a$$!!! Thank you all, I look forward to sharing as much info about the Ruger Max as you all can tolerate. Look forward to learning about the development and introduction of the Dan Wesson .357 Super Mag. Thanks again, Coogs.

I have only been posting for a while and have been collecting DWs for just a little longer. I also really like Ruger Reveolvers and own a few. Originally from Pittsburgh and now sending lead down rage around the Harrisburg/Hershey Area. There is some very interesting reading on this site and the history of the Ruger Maximum would be very interesting to me hope to read and learn. Look forward to seeing the photos of your Rugers and reading your posts.

Jack, welcome Sir , good to see you over here, yes there are 'others' things than Rugers and the DWA 357 max and the Super Max will be right up your alley............wish I could tell you more but I was with them in the early years , at the old school house in Monson, MA., when we trained to be their "factory warranty repair station , over in Cleveland ,Ohio ,..our shop then was called Cleveland Bluing Co............back then it was only 38,357 mag and the 38 specials, and NO stainless steel either, the old man did NOT care for stainless..............
good luck in your quest for MORE 357 MAXI info and data !!!!
