Hello everybody my name is Tim and I am a new member. I just inherited from my dad a DWA 357 Mag Rev and was wondering how much it is worth? its in perfect condition, my father owned it and his wife purchased it for him new as a surprise for some occasion? I dont know the year but at least as far back as 1976. I know for a fact it has only been fired a few times. I mean only 4 or 5 times and was then put away and basically forgotten, thats why its in such good condition. It is blue steel 3166p, I think a 6 inch barrell, nice wood grips, and know the barrell iis inter changeable. I know the Serial/Vin number. Thats about all I know.
Welcome, I hope you become an aficionado. Since the gun is so slightly used I will caution you about accuating (using) the ejector either ejecting shells or just handling the gun. Hold the gun in your right hand, work the latch with your left thumb, and keep your index and middle finger through the frame and pushing the cylinder open while ejecting with your thumb. Dans have a habit of the cylinder swinging shut while the ejector star is extended. If that happens the Star will scratch the sideplate and / or gouge the back of the recoil shield. Smiths and Colts have the cylinder release to protect the sideplate and the gun is held in the right the whole time and the left is used to load. The guns are tilted to the left and the cylinder stays open. With Dans the gun is tilted to the right and loaded with the right hand. Almost all used Dans have these scratches from the first couple times the are used. I hope yours does not. It is kind of like the heartbreak of psoriasis. An otherwise perfect gun except for those nasty scratches.
