Hello everyone,

My father in law picked a Dan Wesson revolver and asked me to clean her up.  I’m trying to order a nice DW wood grip but am uncertain of the model number.  Any help ID’ing would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Welcome to the forum from PA!!!

You definitely need some pics or some info. Like what caliber to start, fixed or adjustable rear sight, blued or stainless?

Welcome to the forum. Dan Wessons are like Lays Potato Chips! You can't buy just one. Most likely you have a 357 magnum. Anyway grips come in two categories. Small frame square tang (square tang refers to the square hole inside the grip that the butt of the gun fits in) If you have a small frame gun (All 357 magnums 32 magnums and .22 LR or .22WMR) you need a small frame square tang grip. All large frame guns take a Large frame round tang grip. (refers to the round hole in the grip that the butt of the gun fits into) They will fit all 44 magnums. 41 magnums and all supermags. there are a few other calibers but they are very rare. the grip comes off with one screw that you access from the bottom of the grip most often with an allen wrench but not always sometimes it's a regular screw. I'm like level one apprentice (kind of like a low end Freemason) There are Master Danmasons here so one of them will weight in!

dwf-welcome to the dwf

Once you determine if you need a small frame or large frame grip, the best place to find them is eBay.
