Searching for more info on the old, long-discontinued (I thought) Dan Wesson revolvers led me to this site (excellent by the way, it's why I joined the first time I was here) and I had NO IDEA they are still being made! I'm happy with mine, but did I make a big mistake not buying new? At least I can find the old ones, I haven't yet found prices for new ones anywhere or even seen one in person. Ever.
The interchangeable barrel offers the best of both worlds, so after I double checked that Dan Wesson was a quality product I picked up a near mint Monson manufactured .22 with 2,4,6, and 8" barrels for $650. For people that know Dan Wesson products far better than I do that may not be a bargain, but after looking at completed autiions for Dan Wesson 22's and considering the prices of other revolvers I was considering (old well-made Smiths and DA Colts that went for $700 or more (I saw a 2" barrel S&W 63 go for $1200!!)), it seemed at least reasonable. ALL kinds of guns, new or used, all maufacurers and models seem to be going up in price these days (fear of a gun-grabing Obama??) and after reading about DW quality, the used ones at least seem like they're way undervalued.
Any Dan Wesson stocking dealers in southeast Michigan?
Great forum. Will be back soon.

Unfortunately, CZ/Dan Wesson is evidently no longer in the revolver business. Until recently they still sold a few large caliber models, but the more traditional types of Dan Wesson revolvers have not been manufactured for some time. Hopefully, parts and support will still be available. BTW-welcome to the site. I bought my very first pistol ever thirty years ago when I lived in the suburban Detroit area-a Dan Wesson .357!
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
