I have owned various revolvers since 1962. Today in purchased my first from
Dan Wesson. Well that a technical issue. The revolver is actually marked as
a High Standard by Dan Wesson. It is a 1973 first year of issue. It is a basic
Dan Wesson model 15-2 as far as I can tell. Please advise if I am mistaken.
I will take it to the range next Tuesday and give it a extended workout. 38/357
is the only way to go. Keep them all in the 10 ring.

Welcome!
Yep 1973 goes back aways and should be pre-15-2. I would consider taking a peek on the inside, to verify that there isnt too much gunk built up in there. A good break-down and re-assembly never hurt.
I am right there with you ont he .357 though I have to say... I am very curious about that .41
Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box
in that order.

As these guys have said, your gun should be a High Standard Sentinel MK II or MK III, depending on if it's got fixed or adjustable sights. These guns are based on the latter end of the DW Porkchop design, with flush barrel nuts & "-2" style actions.
Here's a couple shots of mine. This one is a fixed sight MK II...
Here's an adjustable sight MK III...
These guns behave & function every bit as good as the later 15-2 DW's, and are very fun to shoot.
