Ordered and received from my brand new DWX 5" just a couple of days ago and after a few minutes adjusting the sear spring to get my preferred trigger pull, I had a fantastic day at the range with it.  The trigger pull was 3.5 to 4 pounds with light oiling right out of the box.  It took just a few minutes to take apart the DWX and adjust the sear spring to give me a slightly-under-2 pound to 2.1 pound trigger pull -- smooth pull with an orgasmic, crisp break.

The only thing I wasn't happy ab out after the light tuning was the manual safety's heaviness/stickiness, so I decided to take off the safety to lube and possibly polish it...  After lubrication of the wear that I could already see on the safety parts, I put the gun back together and tested the safety.  That's when I had a Homer moment:  My first 1911/2011 (or variant), of course, so I didn't pay attention to the safety plunger and spring which are now probably in another part of the multiverse...  ARGH!!!   The Hubris of taking apart my very first hammer-fired pistol to make it better after only a couple of days after receiving it...  Now I have to wait a week for replacement parts to enjoy my new baby again 🙁

Maybe I should just crawl back under the Striker Fire rock that I came from...  🙁

Welcome to the forum from PA!!

Those small parts are good to have spares on hand. I think those should be regular 1911 parts???

Put a kink in the middle of the new spring, it will keep it in the tube next time or take it apart in a Zip-Loc bag.

dwf-welcomeTo thedwfFrom central IL!!

I have a DWX and love it.  It took me about 3 years to get one.  When they were announced circa 2019, I knew I wanted one, but then COVID hit and everything came to a halt.  I kept searching, but never could find one for sale anywhere.  FINALLY, I was able to buy one around 2022!  And I bought 2 additional magazines right away for it too.
