Well, after lurking here for ages now I figured I had better go ahead and register so I can get in on all of the great things that this site has to offer. I've owned two Dan Wesson revolvers. A 715 with a 4 inch barrel from many years back that I unfortunately no longer have, and my current 15-2 which I have had for several years now with 6" and 2.5" barrels. No plans to ever part with this one for sure. Textbook DW accuracy.
Anyway, thanks for a great site with a lot of wonderful info. I'll try to post a pic of my 15-2 here soon.

Well, better late than never I guess. Sorry for the delayed response and thanks to all of you for your warm welcome. Below is a pic of my 15-2 wearing the 2.5 inch barrel and shroud that I purchased from CZ/DW a few years back. The grip, I received when I purchased the gun used along with a Pachmayr Gripper. I have yet to see another DW grip like it and have always wondered where they originated. I don't think they were a company production grip of any kind. Maybe someone here can shed some info on them. The medallions are a plain gold colored blank. They are a nice quality made grip as well as comfortable.
Hi Steve. IMHO those grips are handmade or more likely individualized. Grip collecting is a mild form of DWAS that is less financially debilitating. However there are extreme cases of grip hoarding on record. It is acceptable to have a different grip for each barrel length plus an exotic and a rubber(Ron's Rules). That is for each gun of course.

Yep, my thoughts as well that these were handmade by whomever. Could possibly be from original DW's. If so they did a fine job with these. I've gotton several positive comments about them over the years. Can't complain about the feel when shooting either. Very comfortable. Keeper for sure.
