Your Model 7445 has an 8" Vented Rib, Heavy Underlug, Compensated barrel assembly (7445-VH8C), which is a sweet shooter.
I've not heard of taking off the rear sight to add a reddot mounting plate, but that doesn't mean it hasn't been done. The clamp on mounting system in your pics probably won't hold well enough to maintain accuracy. Most send their shroud to the Norwich factory to have them drill and tap it and have a scope mount installed.

Thank you! I’m glad to see I got the model right. I read a post about identifying the correct model and I got it right! I was wondering about how my scope was mounted. I was going to add a third but can’t find the rings anywhere. They are an odd style I’ve only seen in this forum. I know on eBay they make a clamp on picatinny rail but it’s kind of ugly! Thank you for the welcome!

They may be ugly but you don't mess up your shroud by drilling holes in it. I do not know much about mounting scopes but I do know drilling holes into a shroud hurts the value of the barrel shroud! A super valuable gun like that one I would try not to drill if it has not been frilled already. I would buy a 10VH from Geney at CZ for $433 and drill away on that one!

Any inherited gun is a priceless memory.
Stmstan is partially correct. If it was an "investment", drilling and tapping may hurt the "Collectors Value"......($1750-2000?), but so may clamping down on those vent ribs with a scope mount. There are NO additional "compensated" shrouds available from Dan Wesson, but you can order a non-compensated 10" in which to have drilled and tapped.
The 8" compensated and the 10" will shoot differently, but practice is the biggest compensator of all.
Hunt, shoot, or display. What's important is you enjoy it the way that makes you happiest!

For the 7445 VH10 the item description should be: "B/A, SS 445 10 INCH" (But confirm and verify). Cost should be in the area of $433. B/A (Barrel Assembly) includes Barrel, Shroud, and Lock Ring. Orders are run in batches, so wait time could be 30-90 days.

LASTLY, if you are going to install a weaver rail for a scope/Red Dot, they can still Drill, Tap, and and install and DW-Branded rail. It will not be stainless, but you can have somebody "Hard-chrome" for a good match in appearance.

Ordered some 240 grain xtp from bullseye shooting supplies in RI.
It came in today and it was 300gr.
called and they apologized and let me know that the 300gr was in the spot of the 240 on the shelf and i purchased 2 more boxes.
took it to the range today since deer season in ms opens tomorrow and got it sighted in. I think for 35 yards my target is fair. i will post a picture below.

I tested it today. it held up fine through 4 cylinders and wound up getting a decent group for my first time target shooting with it. I posted the picture on a reply to this topic.
