Good Morning All,
I am bunny, and just picked up my first 1911, it happens to be a Dan Wesson. I have many other side arms however they are all Sigs or wheel guns; so this is my first experience with the famous 1911 (or any SAO firearm.) I have been putting in the hours at work this week and the snow does not help but I hope to get to the range on Sunday. I look forward to reading the wealth of knowledge on this site, my first stop will be to research break in procedure; my slide is so tight out of the box it is hard to rack.
Regards,
-d

David, Welcome!
We have lot's of 1911 guys joining lately, my advice first and foremost is to follow EXACTLY the instructions from DW on break in and lubrication. Before shooting, I would lube (not grease) liberally and rack and dry fire.
Here are the DWF "Rules":
1)
2) Have Fun shooting your new Dan Wesson
Steve
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
