Hi Folks, I have 4 Dan Wesson 1911's and have been posting on the 1911 Forum for a while now. Yesterday I bought my first Dan Wesson Revolver and now I'm happy and broke. The price of the new gun wasn't way to expensive but I'm not real sure what I have. While trying to research the gun and maybe find out what it is and when it was made I ran across this sight and thought I would hang out for a while if ya'll have me!
Here's my Dan Wesson 1911 collection all dressed up and ready to go out on the town.
I don't have a pic of the new (to me anyway) Revolver but I will get one soon and show it off. It is a 357 with the 6" barrel. The gun doesn't have the adjustable rear sight nor the colored front sight. The shroud around the barrel is not vented or ribbed in any way either. I know the gun was made in Monson and the serial # is 3583XX. Is that enough info that someone can tell me more about it like model # etc.
Thanks for letting me hang out a while, I've got a lot of reading to do!

First of all, Welcome to DWF.
Second, you have a beautiful (and enviable) DW 1911 stable, and 1911 Forum is a great Site.
Third, a photo of your DW will help a lot in ID'ing it.
A fixed rear sight and internal (to the shroud) barrel nut makes this a 14-2.
Please check the S/N again, if It's a six digit 14-2 it might be from around 1983, but the S/N info is pretty spotty.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

to , LoneOak. You found a good place here for, revolver info for sure. As SteveCT stated, that is a fine looking herd of 1911's you got corralled there. This probably won't be the last DW revolver either. It seems, once you get to shooting them, you'll just want more... That's .. We all here are sick with it.. Pics, not only helps with ID'ing the gun, but also helps us with our symptoms....lol
Glad to have you aboard.
